2012 Recruiting: A Quick Look at the Remaining Targets

With the commitment of Keith Marshall on Tuesday, the Dawgs have begun their final recruiting push towards National Signing Day 2012. In year’s past, the Dawgs would often have around 20 commitments at this point. Yet this year, the class sits at 14 and is currently ranked #23 by Scout. Come February, I expect Georgia to be back in its normal place in the top 10, but there is a lot of work to be done. Here are some of the players that Georgia is hoping to land in the coming weeks:

Of course, there is more information and highlights available of these and other prospects, all you have to do is search the web. I am not a recruiting guru and I have no idea which of these players we actually will end up with.

Only comment I have is that I'm hearing it's a three horse race for Gurley with UGA, Clemson, and UNC. Clem$on is the school to beat.

I heard the same about Gurley... he is friends with Marhsall and they have both expressed that they were cool with playing together and splitting carries, so we shall see.

But personally, I think Mike Davis looks really, REALLY good... I don't see the home run speed like Marshall, but he has good vision for blocks and knifes up-field with great acceleration. Plus he runs like he's pissed off and always seems to get up disappointed that the defense got lucky enough to tackle him. I see attitude and swagger similar to Moreno.
Somehow Muschamp really dropped the ball on a basic-trust, "don't-BS-me-coach" level and I think that the sincerity of our staff is gonna keep him in-state. Plus, he's played against consistently better competition at Stephenson than the NC backs have and his momma wants him to stay close.

Getting all 3 would be great cuz I'm getting the feeling that there is a lot of worry around B-M about Crowell's compatibility with the "Georgia Way".

I don't understand why we aren't targeting more stud OL.

We need more OL in this class. We could use another stud Center IMO.

I agree that we need more OL in this class. We could use another stud Center.

We have a freshmen center and the best center for 2013 will almost certainly be a dawg. Avery young and the two guards make 4 OL. Two are elite. One, theus

I agree that we can always use more help on the line. I was under the impression David Andrews would be taking over the center position next year. He was just a freshman this fall and should be around for three more years. I would much rather build depth at tackle than at center.

I know there is least one JUCO lineman we are going after, but I couldn't remember the name.

Yeah I think center is locked up by Andrews and if something happened Lee could back him up. Andrews did well enough this fall that the coaches had planned on letting him start and moving Jones to whatever position we needed him if another lineman had gotten hurt.
