Your favorite gator here!!!!!!.Hey fellers,STILL A WAITIN FOR THE ANSWER!..This is a legitimate question,.How long will the Georgia football fanbase as a whole wait on coach Richt to win a national championship.Considering he has the same kind of talent as last year.Example,Ron Zook gave UF 3 years of mediocrity and he was out there after consecutive 8-5 seasons.Dont get me wrong, I think Richt is a much better coach than him,so basically the ?, is there a time limit for your coach to produce a crystal football.

Richt will leave when he damn well pleases. He runs a tip-top program and has UGA consistently in the running for a title year-in, year-out. What more could you ask for?

With all the LUCK that plays into a national title game, there's too much out of his control to conclude make a judgment on him based solely on MNCs.

Some schools (cough, UF, cough) are willing to sell their souls to the devil for a title, but we at UGA are positive its going to come, just a matter of time.

Relax MJ,dont get riled up but cough, cough, cough No coach gets to leave when he damn well pleases.ESPECIALLY IN THE S.E.C! And whhhhaaattt, UF selling their souls to the devil for success, last time I checked Urban Meyer has had NO ncaa violations enforced against his team. Thanks for answering the question anyway and I appreciated how you did your little spin job and turned it back on the NATIONAL CHAMPIONS.Sounds like your still hurting from last years WHOOOOPIN IN JAX!1996,2006,2008 NATIONAL CHAMPIONS,DAMN ITS GREAT TO BE A FLORIDA GATOR!

I think the fan base is willing to wait as long as it takes. Coach Richt come to Georgia and turned around a program that was stuck in one place. Under Donnan, we were a solid bowl team bust we never failed to reach the SEC Championship, let alone win one. Coach Richt has done that and turned us into a team that consistently finishes in the top 10. While we have not yet found a way to be more consistent against Florida, we have improved our record against our other top schools that regularly appear on our schedule (7-1 vs. Georgia Tech, 6-2 vs. Tennessee, 5-3 against Auburn, 3-1 against Bama, 3-1 against LSU, 6-2 against South Carolina). Maybe for us to get over that hump and reach a national championship, we have to find a way to even out the series with Florida, but maybe not. We got lucky in 2007 and almost backed our way into the NC game. Winning the SEC is something that you can always control, but winning a National Championship is not (just ask Auburn). As long as Coach Richt can keep Georgia relevant in the race for the SEC Championship, his spot on the Georgia sideline is safe.

Thank you Streit for a very well rounded answer.I didnt come on here to talk trash, just trying to get a consensus from what the UGA fans are feeling.

Just to keep things even here...At Auburn, we "kept" Tubs around with a record much like that or Richt. A class-act coach, who, despite the ploys of certain boosters, developed a talented team and coached the Tigers to the SEC Championship and an undefeated season. However, despite that accomplishment, Tubbs never got the NC to add to his accomplishments, but we (the fans) still kept him around. But the fans don't make the calls as was proven with Tubbs. So, despite how ever long it might take for Richt to win the NC, he might not ever make it there at UGA if the boosters get impaitient.

AUMaverick you have nailed it on the head.I have done business for one of the top 10 "BULLGATOR" boosters and after year one with the zooker they were rumbling at the A.D to get rid of him.Unfortunately for Zook he came after a guy that won 6 S.E.C championships and one national title in coach Spurrier.I kind of compare this syndrome to a McDonalds hamburger.Once you eat at Carrabbas and Outback enough and any other fine dining restaurant, your taste along with your appreciation for quality will be changed forever and the BIG MACS taste like sh-t afterwards. It happens to all schools that get a taste of a conference or national title. When it comes to coach Richt, like Streit said he has definately improved UGA'S winning percentage against the other rivals, and came damn close to winning it all n 2007.Anyway Im glad Tuberville isnt at Auburn anymore,he had our number the 2 years Meyer scheduled the Tigers in 06-07 although I think they made a big mistake getting rid of him.Good luck with your new coach!

Um, side note here...am I a snob, or did I miss when Carabas and Outback became "fine dining" establishments. I guess when you come from Gainesville, anything above McDonalds would be considered "fine dining".

I digress...Auburn's new coach will suck. Short of winning the national championship, Shizick will always suck. As Auburn fan, I rarely trash talk; not because we don't have a great team or lack school spirit, we're just different that way. But with Shizick at the helm, we really have nothing to boast about. Even worse, as a UGA follower, I can't even get excited about the Dawgs since they're rebuilding, and not reloading.

Therefore, unless AUburn or UGA are winning this year, I put my faith behind the mighty Weasels of East Central Dakota University. Survive or Die, Live and Lie, Fight You Might Weasels, Fight!

Streit, maybe some posts on SEC coach profiles? I think we need some investigative reporting on whether Monte repeatedly dropped Lane on the head when he was young... yet another violation. This has to be some sort of record for a 0-0 coach.
